The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) is the United Nations' international and intergovernmental platform focused on food security and nutrition. Each year, CFS convenes government representatives, private sector voices, and civil society organizations to policy recommendations and guidance that could support these food systems goals. This year's session will focus on the 2024 State of Food Security and Nutrition report and the update of the CFS Multi-Year Programme of Work for 2024-2027, among other priorities.

The Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions will co-host a side event at CFS 52 on milestones in advancing the right to food through sustainable small-scale fisheries and resilient aquatic food systems. The side event will take place on Monday, October 21 from 1:30 – 2:45pm CET in the Iran Room and online and will be made available in English, French, and Spanish. The event is hosted in collaboration with FAO, the Aquatic Blue Food Coalition, the World Bank, WorldFish, the Environmental Defense Fund, the Iceland Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Oceana, the Government of Norway, the Global Action Network on Sustainable Food from the Oceans and Inland Waters for Food Security and Nutrition, Tanzania, and CGIAR.
