Diego (he/him) is a research assistant at the Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions. He joined the team in June 2021. At COS, Diego explores the management of Large Scale Marine Protected Areas with emphasis on the Palau National Marine Sanctuary.
Diego is an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Systems Engineering in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Stanford. He is passionate about applying data analysis to inform environmental policy and sustainable development. Diego has previously applied his interests to better understand changes in groundwater storage and quality in California’s San Joaquin Valley and to support rural water infrastructure in Northern Uganda.
When he’s not studying, Diego loves to be in nature and enjoys backpacking, reading, and painting.
