
Rebecca Spencer
Rebecca Spencer (she/her) is a Research Assistant for the Blue Food Assessment, a collaboration with the Center for Ocean Solutions and Center on Food Security and the Environment at Stanford University, Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University, and EAT.
Rebecca is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies and a master’s degree in Earth Systems at Stanford University. Of her many research interests, she is currently diving into ocean health and policy surrounding the Korean peninsula, environmental policy, and cross-cultural conversations on climate change.
Prior to working at COS, she spent a year in South Korea as a Boren Scholar at the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies, providing research support on geopolitical risk and scientific innovation in Northeast Asia. Prior to this, she worked at the Center for Strategic and International Relations, the Walter-Shorenstein Asia Pacific Research Center, and completed a fellowship at Sungkyunkwan University.
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys surfing, swimming, learning languages, and serving as a creative director for the Stanford Bhangra Team.
