September 19: Early Career Science Fellow Collin Closek discusses environmental DNA research at The Hydrous Ocean Salon

August 31, 2019

Date: September 19, 2019

Time: 6:00-8:00PM

Location: Schmidt Marine Technology Partners, San Francisco, CA.

Can small vials of water reveal the structure and diversity of marine ecosystems? Early Career Science Fellow Collin Closek investigates biodiversity in the ocean using environmental DNA (eDNA) tools, technology that relies on DNA shed by marine organisms. His work focuses on National Marine Sanctuaries as part of a collaborative Marine Biodiversity Observation Network (MBON) project.

Collin’s talk is part of an Ocean Salon series hosted by The Hydrous, an ocean nonprofit led by Ocean Design Fellow Erika Woolsey.
